Love Your Brain
Achieve your creative/business goals with your body & brain fully on board.
Does any of this sound familiar?
-
You love your brain's capacity for creativity and innovation... But sometimes you feel stuck in the spin cycle of overwhelm.
-
You're a "self-improvement" pro who's watched the YouTube, bought the books, and downloaded a dozen courses... But somehow you find yourself seeking solutions to the same problems again and again...while willing yourself to get off your phone.
-
Your mental health is okay, or "better than it was!"... But you still find yourself delayed by perfectionism, procrastination, or just not-wanting-to-do-this-today.
-
You're a talented creative with so many ideas and interests... But you have trouble focusing on one thing long enough to build what feels like sustainable success.
-
And you're devilishly self-sufficient, always thinking you should be able to figure it out on your own... But something's just not clicking and you're not sure you're on the right path.
Here's the problem...
When you're not feeling inspired and creative, the self-judgment can pile on, full of messages you've been hearing your whole life. Creative and neurodivergent folks are sometimes called lazy, undisciplined, or even hopeless. And that's hardly the loving, curious state from which creativity flows!
If you've already done a lot of "work on yourself" and just want to get to the good stuff already, the good news is that you don't have to be fully healed in order to get your creative mojo back.
If you feel pulled in fifteen directions by your interests and passions, there are ways to grow and achieve without becoming a boring one-thing-at-a-time person.
And if you've tried a ton of different things, you're probably feeling ready for something that works for your exact brain and situation, that can be flexible as you grow.
If that resonates...
I bet you've been looking for a professional creative who gets the arts & business parts AND has the proven skills to support you in managing the day-to-day so you have the mental space to truly live in your genius.
And it does exist—I'm a multi-hyphenate autistic+ADHD artist & AuDHD Coach whose special interest in trauma healing led them to becoming a multiply-certified coach and hypnotist, working with neurodivergent creatives to build sustainable lives.

p.s. this is the big Do The Thing course... if you're looking for the chill ongoing social support, that's Like Your Brain :)
Love Your Brain is a creative incubator for AuDHD* creatives and/or entrepreneurs who are ready for all the work they've put in to pay off.
Over ~8 weeks, Love Your Brain has two simultaneous goals:
1. Understanding your unique brain
2. Putting that knowledge to work for your dreams/goals
Why does that sound so simple?
Because it works.

This is not about a list of external tasks. This is not about forcing yourself into someone else's method.

What makes this course unique is that it helps you build your own repeatable framework to get things done in a way that feels good to you.
*Clients who are just Autistic OR ADHD have also been successful in Love Your Brain! See FAQ below for more.
Sounds cool, but how?
Procrastination, self-sabotage, and people-pleasing are actually safety mechanisms when the brain perceives a threat. If the brain or body feel unsafe, it will focus all energy on returning to safety. Not doing cool creative work!
Instead of fighting your brain and body, you'll learn how to:
-
Recognize when your body has a genuine need
-
Find what works for your brain & body
-
Make the most of how you feel (rather than changing it)
-
Changing how you feel if absolutely necessary
-
Help your brain & body feel more safe & feel better first
-
Maximize the strengths of your neurotype
-
Spot obstacles in advance
-
Balance planning & flexibility
-
Balance novelty & routine
Regulating the nervous system so it can return to safety more often can feel like a deep reset for the body and brain. It allows us to take risks, have healthy relationships, maintain better health, and feel more hopeful.
And if you join the group or 1:1 elements...
...we can go deeper, and find exactly what works for you more quickly.
Using a variety of modalities including coaching, hypnosis, somatics, and other cool stuff, we find what helps your nervous system feel consistently more safe and less stressed.
Whatever you choose:
The ups and downs of life will still happen, but you'll have many tools at your disposal that work for your unique mind-body system. And you'll feel more of a sense of control about whatever comes in the future.
LYB has your brain in mind. Because of that, lessons are bite-sized (3-14 min) and can be consumed in multiple ways.
This program is not a substitute for medical advice from a licensed professional. While Mattia loves science and learns as much as they can, they are very aware of their lane... which does not include diagnosing or treating disorders.
The 3 core themes:
1
Understanding your own mind-body system
Understanding your brain is the first step in loving it.
This content combines new research findings, personal experience, and client observations to create the most in-depth overview of AuDHD approaches that I've seen.

Learn about the new science of brain states and how working with them can save you countless time & energy.

Plan for good, average, and bad days rather than assuming they'll all be ideal.

Change your whole approach to setting goals.

+ The potential "superpower" of flow states, which we may have extra access to naturally
2
Working with your brain & Lessening shame
Where the magic begins!

Experimenting is a core tool that can circumvent perfectionism & many forms of procrastination

Ideas for mapping & labeling your own brain to ease demand avoidance and decrease shame

Lessening shame makes everything easier. We can lose so much energy to it!

Harnessing your unique genius by leaning into strengths & capitalizing on weaknesses & strategically using our natural interests

Learn some AuDHD-specific tools to change emotions and brain states if necessary (because sometimes it is)
3
Getting through a project ...even the tough parts
Our brains have some very specific needs.

Make flexible plans you can actually follow, that consider obstacles & bad days.

Choose from tools to manage interruptions & daily life irritations (having to eat every dang day, anyone?!?)

Find the core needs that make your body-mind work.

Lean into monotropic focus as a strength.

Specific advice for the hardest parts of every project (beginnings & endings, the messy middle, constant change, and our fears)

+ Bonus Troubleshooting section to help integrate & implement
More support as needed
Yes, you can just do the course and get what you need!

Some reasons you may want more support at some point:
-
You're an external processor and need to talk things through
-
You're quite busy and need to land on workable answers quickly
-
Everything feels equally important & it's tough to prioritize
-
You feel stuck in a way that doesn't seem to budge
-
You want rapid progress but worry about burnout

Individual support
Individual support is completely customized to your needs.
Over three 1:1 sessions, we figure out any stuck spots and only try solutions that you think will work for you. That saves your time and energy.

This is also the best way to get direct advice about specific situations. While I am not a business coach, I frequently support entrepreneurs, and am happy to offer that type of support when I understand your needs.

Support available via email between sessions.

Group support
Connect with other course participants, share thoughts/advice, ask questions, and overcome inertia just by posting. Mattia responds regularly.

Currently this takes place in a private Discord channel that's a part of Like Your Brain, the community & peer support space.
In Spring 2025 there will be a "live round" of the course with group coaching calls, co-working, and the support of a cohort. Find out more here.

p.s... Don't get stuck here trying to decide about add-ons ;)

The course has a section on how to seek help, including free or pre-existing support, so please check that out first if you're not sure.

Who am I
& why do people work with me?
My name is Mattia Maurée, and I’m an award-winning composer and poet who loves learning, long walks, and arctic puffins. While I started college at 14, I wasn’t diagnosed autistic until my 30s—being gifted often masks struggles with daily life. Everyone in my large family has ADHD, and learning how to love and accept my strengths and weaknesses has made every area of life more fun, challenging, and rewarding.
I’ve specialized in working with neurodivergent and gifted people since 1999, when I first started teaching piano. When I started processing my own complex-PTSD, trauma healing became a special interest that led directly to a year-long trauma training program. While I didn’t want to be a therapist, I knew I wanted to help people like me thrive. Becoming a multiply-certified life coach and hypnotist has given me a plethora of modalities to draw from. I'm a Board Certified Hypnotherapist through IACT, an organization that certifies hypnosis professionals.
Now, I’ve coached over 250 neurodivergent creatives. Through our work together, clients have changed careers, revitalized creative practices, and brought “11 out of 10” anxiety down to manageable levels.
I’ve helped people do everything from create an ND-friendly morning routine to explain to their parents why they need to change degree programs. Now I work exclusively with neurodivergent (including gifted) creatives and entrepreneurs to get the support they haven’t been able to find anywhere else.
p.s. my name is pronounced muh-TEE-uh muh-RAY and my pronouns are they/them

Brief overviews of common questions people send
Q: Who is this program for?
Neurodivergent creatives & entrepreneurs who are ready to transition into the next phase of their career. Mid-career artists who feel stuck or frustrated. People who know they have so much more capacity but feel held back by the same brain that gives them superpowers.
Q: Who is the program NOT for?
A: If you’re at the very beginning of your creative journey and are looking for “tips and tricks” rather than a comprehensive jet-fuel for your process.
This is not for you if paying for it would stress you out too much to enjoy it.
Q: How much time will this take?
A: Pre-recorded course: An hour or two per week for 6-10 weeks. If you're working on a project actively, however much time you want to commit to it.

Optional Group calls: An hour per week, plus optional 2-hr coworking call.

Optional 1:1 calls: Scheduled at your convenience, available M/T/W ~10a-5:30p EST.
Q: Are scholarships available?
There's a need-based discount here.

You may be able to get professional development funds to cover it through work or school. Please figure out their policies as needed before committing.

Some people (in Europe & Canada so far) have applied for governmental funding to cover the course and/or coaching.

I'm still experimenting with how scholarships fit into this program. Because it focuses on safety to be effective, significant financial hardship might make it unhelpful.
Q: Do I have to be both autistic and ADHD?
A: Nope—if you're one or the other, or identify as neurodivergent in general, that's great too. And self-diagnosis is always valid!
AuDHDers specifically tend to not find much support or advice that works for them, so that's why I'm being up front about this being a space for both neurotypes.
Q: Should I just find a coach for my specific artistic area, such as a book coach?
A: If you have a clearly defined project, need in-depth insider knowledge of one area, and don’t need the nervous system support… go for it! If you need a coach who understands your brain, not just your medium, and/or if your dreams and passions are wide-ranging and you struggle with figuring out how to get it all done… I can help with that.
Q: I’ve tried coaches or programs in the past that haven’t worked for me…how is this different?
A: If this is not the right fit for you, I trust you to know that. I’ve helped ND creatives create some truly outrageous results by deeply honoring their own inner knowing.

A few differences in my approach:
-
I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I have very low ego in this area.
-
I won't wait for you to "find the answer." If I have specific advice or ideas, I'll offer it. (with your consent)
-
All of this material is built around AuDHD needs.
-
I'm constantly checking for your consent & buy-in during live calls.
Q: What if I feel like I “should” be able to figure all this out by myself?
A: Neurodivergent creatives often have to forge our own path. You’re probably used to figuring things out on your own out of necessity. Being "functional" (i.e. high-masking) is a double-edged sword, because you may have had trouble getting people to take you seriously enough to actually help you. And all you really want is enough stability to love your creative practice again, and have it support your life holistically.
I’m here to help you integrate everything you’ve learned so far, put all the pieces together, and finally feel like your brain is totally on your side.

p.s. Giftedness is a neurodivergence, not a level of functionality. You can be highly gifted and feel that you don't have much to show for it. That's how I felt for many years.
